Description
Pre-Columbian, Gulf Coast of Mexico, Veracruz culture, ca. 500 to 700 CE. A fascinating ceramic whistle in the form of a seated man wearing a large round pectoral, two huge round earrings, and a crested headdress or coiffure. The figure is seated, legs out in front of him, with one hand touching his forehead, the other wrapped around his erect phallus. The face is fascinating, deeply lined, almost skull-like. A hole in the figure's lower back allows one to blow into it and create a resonant sound. Size: 3" L x 4.55" W x 4.7" H (7.6 cm x 11.6 cm x 11.9 cm)
