A Japanese Satsuma Vase Attributed to Kinkozan
Meiji period (1868-1912), an exceptionally fine satsuma vase, elaborately decorated with lush chrysanthemums next to medallions with meticulously painted auspicious animals such as phoenixes, dragons, bats, and carp, all against a netted background with patterned circles joined with flowers, rim of the vase is decorated with delicate floral patterns in gilt, signature to underside in gilt is rubbed, but appears to read Kinkozan, additionally the decoration is similar to another vase by Kinkozan.
