North Carolina. $1,000 Issued 6% Coupon Bond, Cr.62V, Black print on black border on oversized certificate, Allegorical women at top, Bond was issued "under act of the General Assembly entitled and means for supplying the treasury." VF-XF condition with minor staining at top, Signed by Zebulon Baird Vance, as Governor. He was a Confederate military officer in the American Civil War, the 37th and 43rd Governor of North Carolina, and U.S. Senator. A prolific writer, Vance became one of the most influential Southern leaders of the Civil War and postbellum periods. J.T. Paterson & Co.
