AMERICAN OR BRITISH SCHOOL (19TH CENTURY) FOLK ART PORTRAIT OF A GIRL, watercolor on paper, full-length depiction of a figure in profile wearing black dress, blue neck tie, and knitted hair net, she holding a red book in one hand, no signature located. Housed under glass in a 19th-century rosewood frame. Circa 1845. 8" x 5 3/4" sight, 12 5/8" x 10 1/2" OA.
Very good overall visual condition with minor toning and discoloration. Frame with minor wear. Not examined out of frame.
Provenance: From the Schonberger Collection of Old Lyme, CT.
