Item Details

Description

Pre-Columbian Tairona/Sinu beads of red agate, green variscite, and heishi red spondylus shell used to make a contemporary necklace. The agate bead graduate in size from 21 mm long and 8 mm thick to 34 mm long and 21 mm thick. Variscite beads graduated in size from 7mm to 13 mm. Strung on a cord with a hook & eye closure. Necklace measures 34 inches long. Originally purchased by the consignor from Peruvian artisan Gerardo Roca who was living in Colombia in the last quarter of the 20th century.
