Pre-Columbian, Central America, Costa Rica, Guanacaste/Nicoya region, ca. 200 to 600 CE. A hand-carved greenstone pendant exhibiting an abstract avian head along the top. The bottom tapers to a chisel-shaped 'tail', and the head exhibits a recess for the eyes as well as a triangle for the beak. Drilled laterally for suspension. Size: 3.05" L x 0.83" W x 0.29" H (7.7 cm x 2.1 cm x 0.7 cm)
