This is a large, atractive, blue-back nautical chart of the western coast of Central America from Cebaco Island in present Panama north to San Blas, in central part of Mexico. San Blas was a historically important port for Spanish expeditions departing northward from the 18th century to mid 19th century including during the California Gold Rush when this chart was issued. Great deal of detail is provided as to the coastal regions, soundings, topography, rivers, lakes, settlements, etc. Multiple compass roses are shown.
