Katharine (Kay) Meyer Graham was the first female Fortune 500 CEO and publisher of a major American newspaper, The Washington Post. Graham controlled the newspaper for over two decades. During her reign, the Post published the content of the Pentagon Papers and covered the Watergate conspiracy, which ultimately led to the resignation of President Nixon. Graham went on to win a Pulitzer Prize in 1998 for her memoir, Personal History.
