A GROUP OF FOUR JAPANESE GILT AND POLYCHROME ENAMEL DECORATED IMARI STYLE COVERED JARS, 20TH CENTURY, decorated in traditional Imari palette of shaded blue, red, and orange with gilt highlights, comprising a jar of tapering cylindrical form with flattened domed top, the jar decorated with alternating blue outlined reserved panels of floral sprays and single flower blossom, between blue ground band of floral blossoms and a repeating diaper pattern, early 20th century, unmarked, height: 6 1/2"; a tapering ovoid form gently lobed jar decorated with alternating reserves of addorsed birds on flowering branches and single floral blossom on red ground, with tall domed cover and turned finial, unmarked, height: 8 7/8"; a tapering ovoid form jar with alternating blue outlined reserved panels of a flowering tree and a single floral blossom, the spandrels with scattered floral blossoms, the domed cover with single floral blossom reserves and turned finial, unmarked, height; 6 7/8"; and a ribbed tapering ovoid form jar with alternating reserves of a flowering tree and a flying bird, with matching domed cover with ribbed finial, early 20th century, unmarked, height: 8 5/8".

In overall fair to good used condition, with surface rubbing and wear commensurate with age and use; the smallest jar with large chip to the lip of the base; the tapering cylindrical jar with firing crack on the bottom; crazing to the bodies.
