Description
A GROUP OF FOUR SILVER GILT AND CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL ITEMS, RUSSIAN AND CONTINENTAL, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, the group comprising a traditional Pan Slavic style coffee spoon, the ovoid silver gilt bowl enameled on the back with banded scroll, floral, and torch enamel decoration in dark blue, turquoise, light blue, green, red, and white on stippled gilt ground, the machined stem capped by a wide band of vertical dark blue enamel stripes between turquoise "jewels," the terminal with a white enamel band with pendant red enamel lappets over a silver gilt capped bowl, marks for Moscow assayer Anatoly Apollonovich Artstbashe, 1892, and unidentified maker's mark, length: 5 3/8"; a Giustav Klingert shaded cloisonné enamel and silver gilt kettle form salt, Moscow, 1898-1914, with alternating pale yellow and peach enamel oval reserves with floral decoration and periwinkle blue spandrels with raised gilt scrollwork, gilt rim and interior, raised on three gilt ball feet, marks for Moscow assayer Ivan Sergeyevich Lebedkiss, 1898-1914, standard mark "*$," and maker's mark in Cyrillic, height: 1 5/8", diameter: 2 3/8"; a Pavel Ovchinnikov cloisonné enamel and silver gilt egg form container/box, the top with radiating enamel rosette with dark blue center and rows of turquoise, crimson red, and green petals over inverted teardrops in cream and crimson, and turquoise, with crimson centered cream petal floral buds under dark blue arches and periwinkle blue beaded border, the base with marching periwinkle blue beaded border over translucent, crimson, and turquoise enamel swags with pendants over dark blue arches, continuing into inverted teardrops and culminating with a radiating rosette in crimson, turquoise, and dark blue petals, gilt interior, marked "84," and maker's initials in Cyrillic, Moscow, circa 1898-1914, height: 1 5/8", diameter: 2 1/2"; and a Continental rectangular silver gilt cigarette box with scrolled floral cloisonne enamel decoration to the top, beaded rims, marked "925," height: 3/8", width: 3 5/8", depth: 2".
Condition
The items in overall fair to good condition, the spoon with minor chipping and loss to enamel decoration, rubbing to gilt surfaces; the Klingert salt cellar with rubbing to the enamel and gilt surfaces, with areas of loss to the gilding in the interior; the Ovchinnikov egg with very minor losses to the enamel and gilt decoration ; the cigarette case in fair worn condition.
