Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE; Costa Rica, ca. 200 to 600 CE. Mayan territories, Yucatan Peninsula, Maya, ca. 600 to 950 CE. A group of ancient Pre-Columbian stone objects. First is a Costa Rican greenstone avian axe god celt with white-hued mineral streaks and biconically-drilled through front and back for suspension. Second is a Mayan greenstone zoomorphic amulet with two bud-shaped ears, a triangular face, a celt-form bottom, and biconically-drilled through neck for suspension. Last is a group of thirty-six knapped obsidian fragments, some opaque and some translucent and one russet-hued remnant, in forms varying from spear points and arrowheads to abstract forms and fragments of larger objects. A wonderful array of ancient stone artifacts! Size of largest object: 2.5" L x 1" W (6.4 cm x 2.5 cm).

Most obsidian objects are fragments of larger items, with knapping marks and minor chipping along peripheries. Mayan pendant is wearable with suspension cord, has age-commensurate surface wear, and loss to lower portion. Costa Rican pendant is wearable with suspension cord, and is intact with minor age-commensurate surface wear and mineral deposits in drill holes.
