Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico, Guerrero region, Mezcala culture, ca. 600 to 100 BCE; Southern Mexico to Guatemala, Maya, ca. 250 to 900 CE; Valley of Mexico, Teotihuacan, ca. 3rd to 7th century CE; Valley of Mexico, Mixtec culture, ca. 11th to 16th century CE. A set of 5 hand-carved stone amulets from across ancient Mesoamerica. Included are 2 Mixtec penate figures, a Maya oblong bead, a petite Mezcala bead, and a dark green Teotihuacan figure. Size of largest (Mixtec figure): 0.55" L x 0.8" W x 1.8" H (1.4 cm x 2 cm x 4.6 cm)
Provenance: private Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA collection; ex-Minerva Gallery; ex-Benjamin Vega, California, USA, acquired in 2006 to 2007; ex-Gene and Virginia George, brought to the USA from 1961 to 1966

Condition
Loss to leg of Teotihuacan figure as shown; remaining artifacts are intact and very good. Nice surface smoothness and preservation to detailing.
