Description
Central Asia, India, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A cast bronze figure of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi, wife of Vishnu. Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth of all kinds - not just material wealth, but also the wealth of fame and family. Here she stands on a round pedestal atop a small square stand that was cast as part of the statue, wearing an ornate skirt and belt, wearing a variety of necklaces, bracelets, anklets, and earrings and a large headdress. Size: 2.45" W x 4.9" H (6.2 cm x 12.4 cm)
