Description
Scare Pre-Columbian Maya Spouted Vessel in the form of VUK’UB KAK’IX from the Southern Maya Lowlands, ca. 100 B.C.-250 CE. This is a type rarely seen but one of the finest examples. Usulutan ware with a negative resist type surface on the interior on the backside. The vessel was stuccoed at one time, as was typical for the use in rituals they were part of in areas of Chiapas and Peten region. Ex. Michael Cichon Collection, Fl. Ex. Heritage Auctions, TX. 8.50 in height. one leg broken and reglued.
