Description
CIVIL WAR ERA EPAULETTES AND INSIGNIA, LOT OF SIX, comprising a pair with embroidered wire "4" insignia and brass Federal eagle with "A" buttons, presumably an artillery officer's epaulettes, with two brass artillery crossed cannon insignia, and a pair with brass Federal eagle buttons, each mounted on board under glass in shadowbox display frame. Together with a Horstmann & Sons tin epaulette case with original paper label. Seven pieces total. Second half 19th century. Shadowbox frames 15 3/8" x 21 7/8" OA.
Very good condition overall, one artillery epaulette with losses to one wire coil, each with expected minor discoloration, tin case with expected surface wear, some minor dents, and some losses to paper label. Not examined out of frame.
