This original February 21, 1800 dated Imprint measures about 5” x 8”, 44 Pages (complete with errata p. 44), Samuel Etheridge printed in Charlestown in 1800, Printer's monogram device on title page, Printed by Samuel Etheridge. Introduction page Harvard University Meeting of December 28, 1799. Full title page reads, “An Address in Latin, by Joseph Willard (1738-1804), S.T.D. L.L.D. and a Discourse in English by David Tappan (1752-1803), S.T.D. Hollis Professor of Divinity; Delivered before the University in Cambridge, Feb. 21, 1800. In Solemn Commemoration of General George Washington.” This address was given at a memorial service upon the death of General George Washington. Title page has 2” x 1” tall paper loss at its upper and lower right corners with tone on the intro page at upper right, light scattered foxing, and original handmade brown ink notations for emphasis within the Latin introduction portion only, perhaps being made by the presenter, Joseph Willard.
