Description
Royal Vienna-manner porcelain cabinet plate, hand-painted with a depiction of "Cupid Binding Aglaia to a Laurel," after the 18th century Angelika Kaufmann painting, signed "C. Forster" along the lower right edge, on the underside an overglaze blue beehive mark, circa 1895-1900, and faint impression of "133S." 9" diameter. Underside further with V-shaped tight old hairline crack not extending through plate to painted side. Very similar to a painted porcelain goblet to be found in Lot 124.
