Description
A vintage Royal Vienna hand painted porcelain plate. The plate is adorned with a hand painted image of a woman and a fishing cupid in a blossoming garden, after Hans Zatzka, German, 1859 to 1945. The borders of the plate are adorned with gilded scrollwork and colorful floral ornaments. Marked with an underglaze blue ink mark, on the backside. Circa: late 19th century. Hans Zatzka, German, 1859 to 1945, was an Austrian artist, also known under the pseudonyms H. Zabateri, P. Ronsard and J. Bernard. He graduated from the Vienna Academy of Arts 1882, a student of Christian Griepenkerl, Karl Wurzinger and Karl von Blaas. The author of numerous salon paintings depicting nymphs, cupids, women, children, love couples, animals and birds, flowers, still lifes.
