Condition
Very slight, very shallow bend on one side of the front edge of lid, about 1" long, but otherwise in quite
good condition, with no other issues noted beyond some light wear consistent with age and use. Five or
six tiny casting bubbles on one side of the handle near the junction of the two scrolls. Glass good with a
couple of nicks but no cracks or chips. Excellent engraving. Hallmarked (on the rim) with: 1) the sterling
lion passant; 2) the London crowned leopard's head; 3) the date letter "p" for 1790-1791; 4) the George
III bust duty mark; and 5) the "WB" maker's mark of Walter Brind. Marks good, clean and legible, with the
maker's mark slightly worn on the lower edge.
