Description
George III sterling silver child's tankard, with hallmarks of Peter and Jonathan Bateman, London, 1789, to rim, and of barrel form with shaped handle, the underside engraved in copperplate script: "William Trotter / the Gift of my / Grandmother / 1810", together with a diminutive two-handled sterling silver cup, apparently unmarked, but with engraved monogram "RD" to underside. 2.75" H x 3.25" W x 2.5" D; weight: 2.92 ozt. Provenance: Christie's East, New York (tag attached).
