Description
Deno Carlo was an infamous venue that offered loud music and promoted nudity. The situation finally became so bad that an anonymous individual offered the State of California $125,000 to match funds so that the beach could be purchased and turned into a public park. The acquisition was completed in January 1969 and the tavern that housed Deno Carlo was torn down, much to the delight of the area’s residents. This rare handbill advertises a 4th of July 1967 event.
