Chinese Tibetan Qing Dynasty Gilt Bronze turquoise and red-coral inlaid Bodhisattva Buddha figure of Sitting Vajrapani, Vajra-scepter Holder.
Vajrapani, peaceful, with one face and two hands. The right hand holds to the heart an upright gold vajra and the left a bell turned up at the hip. Adorned with a crown of gold, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and the like, he wears garments of silk. With the legs in vajra posture, he sits atop a double lotus throne. The bronze has been worked masterfully and shows little marring. Underside with incised quatrefoil flora-form petal visvavajra surrounding the centralized DaiJi.
