Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A small iron ring with an extended table terminating in a rectangular key-shaped end. Such rings were worn so that the key to important locked items would always be close at hand. Wearable as a ring or as a necklace pendant. Size: 2.2" L (5.6 cm); US ring size 4.5.
