Description
1st-4th century A.D. Comprising a pair of twisted iron bars linked at the centre, loop at each outer end with free-running flat-section ring. Cf. James, S., Excavations at Dura Europos 1928-1937. VII The Arms, Armour and Other Military Equipment, London, 2004, p.66-7. 217 grams, 30 cm (11 3/4 in.).

Found Billingsgate spoil from the Thames foreshore, London, UK, circa 1984. Property of an Essex collector.
