Description
6th-14th century AD. A mixed group of bronze coin and trade weights comprising: two barrel-shaped with silver-inlaid '??' to one face; one similar, smaller with 'IB' design; one discoid with nimbate bust and 'XP' legend, lip to reverse. 190 grams total, 15-27mm (1/2 - 1"). Property of a British gentleman; formerly in the private collection of Russian businessman Yuri Golubev (1942-2007), some of his collection was published in his book 'Symbols and Images'; acquired by auction in 2006; accompanied by a copies of the listings.
