Item Details
Description
Greece, Ionian, ca. 7th to 6th century BCE. A wheel-thrown terracotta lydion (perfume jar) with a conical concave base, a globular body, a tubular neck that gently widens and resolves in a flat, flared rim. A large portion of the body is covered in an undulating black on orange pattern; this design probably enveloped the totality of its exterior surfaces upon creation. A wonderful example. Size: 2.625" W x 4" H (6.7 cm x 10.2 cm)
