Description
Ancient Greece, ca. 5th to 4th century BCE. A wonderful circular terracotta relief depicting the head of a goddess, perhaps Tyche (Roman counterpart being Fortuna) - the goddess of luck and fortune - with her attractive head in high relief and presenting delicate features framed by a wavy coiffure, donning a necklace, and surrounded by a leafy wreath (one of her chief attributes), with a 'beaded' border. Size: 7.75" W x 7.25" H (19.7 cm x 18.4 cm)
