Buff faille trimmed in seafoam satin and cream lace scallops, cap sleeve evening bodice edged with small folded Van Dyke points, backed around the neckline with pleated gauze and silk ribbon drawstring, separate satin belt with large lace-trimmed back bow; afternoon bodice with pagoda sleeve, self buttons, and bow details; trained skirt having swagged front panel set between narrow satin panels in a loop of large, folded Van Dyke points with bows. Petersham and belt labels "Mon. Gaguelin, 83. Rue Richelieu.83, Paris", Christie's auction May 28, 1970, B-32, B-28, W-22, L-38-59. (Afternoon bodice seams let out, skirt largely discolored-noticeable in bright light, hidden 1-inch tear below waistband, some browning of lace, few very minor holes) good.
