Description
Ivory satin having short sleeve bodice with wide V-neck edged in tatting, tucked into a gentle point with self piping, gathered skirt with padded hem. Includes a letter signed "HMC" from Boston, 1829 accepting a proposal from a Mr. George Mansfield of Pepperell, Massachusetts. B-34, W-26, L-50. (Some soil and tiny spots). Together with a pair of satin straight and flat wedding slippers with partial label "...T.W.Williams...", includes note that they were worn by Rebecca Montgomery in 1849, possibly a relative, L-9. (Several light brown spots). Dress excellent, slippers good.
