Description
Pre-Columbian, Central Coast Peru, Incan Empire, ca. 1200 to 1520 CE. A beautiful ceremonial axe head, hand-carved from a mottled green stone with black and dark-brown inclusions. The axe has an oblong form with two projecting lateral ends comprising the handle. The bulbous blade end has two semi-flat faces which taper to an acutely-angled edge. Polished to a reflective sheen, this is a wonderful example! Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 4.25" L x 3.375" H (10.8 cm x 8.6 cm); 5.5" H (14 cm) on included custom stand.
