Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, Protoclassic, Ameca style, 100 BCE to 250 CE. A lovely hollow-cast terracotta figurine, likely for votive purposes, depicting an abstract standing female with high-arched feet, wide hips, hands resting on abdomen, and perky breasts. She also has applied coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a large protruding nose, flared ears with ear clips, a puffy face, and a large brow with a large hole on the top. Painted details in hues of orange, deep red, and brown show through the faded surface color. An adorable example of shaft tomb pottery craftsmanship! Size: 1.75" L x 4.125" W x 6.5" H (4.4 cm x 10.5 cm x 16.5 cm).
