Eleven (11) Post Revolutionary War Issac Bikerstaff almanacks, 1st-10th items: "The New-England Almanack, or, Lady's and Gentleman's Diary, For the Year(s) of our Lord Christ 1792-1793, 1800, 1805, 1807, 1809-1812, 1814" written under the pseudonym Isaac Bickerstaff, printed and sold by John Carter, Providence, et al. Almanacks range in size from 6 1/2" H x 4 3/8" W to 8" H x 4 3/4" W. 11th item: "An Astronomical, Diary, Kalender or Almanack, for the Year of Our Lord, 1788" written under the pseudonym Isaac Bickerstaff, printed by Hudson and Goodwin, Hartford. 7" H x 4 3/8" W. Condition
Overall good condition. Toning, dampstaining, foxing spots, personal inscriptions, ink spots, tears, to be expected from age. See following reports for condition of stitching. 1st-10th items: Original stitching replaced with old green thread; approximately 3" x 1 1/4" area of loss to top right corner of pages, 1792 edition. Majority of stitching missing, 1 3/8" area of stitching intact, 1793 edition. Added front and final leaves, possibly made by bookseller; all stitching intact, 1800 edition. 1 1/8" area of old tape repair, lower right of front leaf; all stitching intact, 1805 edition. Printing on 2nd, 4th, and 8th pages off center; all stitching intact, 1807 edition. Corners of pages rounded; Old brown paper tape covers binding, all stitching appears to be intact, 1809 edition. Corners of pages rounded; Old brown paper tape covers binding, all stitching appears to be intact, 1810 edition. Majority of stitching replaced with old light blue thread, two 1 1/4" areas of original stitching intact, 1811 edition. Extra margin, bottom of pages; 1 7/8" area of stitching intact, 1812 edition. Extra margin, bottom of pages; all stitching present. 2 3/4" x 1 1/2" area of loss, top right corner of front leaf, 1814 edition. 11th item: Right margin of first two pages damaged, last page separated from binding. Majority of stitching missing, 3/4" area intact, 1788 edition.
