RARE GERMAN WWII MONEY ENVELOPE, LUFTWAFFE, 1945
German WWII money envelope from the Luftwaffe, dated 1945. It was a gift of 75 Reichs Marks for New Year to Unteroffizier Rudy B. Additionally, you can see the registration number from the archive in blue (number 84) and two holes, indicating that the post-war was in an archive folder.
TEST: This particular item has passed a very important test: it does not glow under a black lamp. (Note that all paper made after 1945 typically glows under black light). Please refer to the images for further details.
CONDITION: The item is in very good, used condition. For additional information, please refer to the pictures.
PROVENANCE: 1. From a Long Island estate, descendants of German immigrants, New York, USA, June 15, 1991; 2. Our sale of this item adds another layer of provenance (please print this page). History of sale is very IMPORTANT for serious collection.

LUFTWAFFE: The Luftwaffe was the aerial warfare branch of the combined German Wehrmacht military forces during World War II. German day and night fighter pilots claimed roughly 70,000 aerial victories during World War II. Of these, about 25,000 were British or American planes, about 45,000 were Soviet aircraft, and a few thousand were French, Belgian, Polish, or other Allied nationalities. 103 German fighter pilots shot down more than 100 enemy aircraft for a total of roughly 15,400 aerial victories. Roughly a further 360 pilots claimed between 40 and 100 aerial victories for round about 21,000 victories. Another 500 fighter pilots claimed between 20 and 40 victories for a total of 15,000 victories.
