Description
The elegant Western Hemisphere map from Thomson's New General Atlas, with excellent topographical detail throughout South and North America up to, but not including Alaska, whose interior is blank. All of upper California is named New Albion and many Indian tribes are named and located in the interior of North America.
John Thomson (1777-1840) was a Scottish cartographer from Edinburgh, best known for his 1817 New General Atlas.
