Title: Civilization and Its Discontents
Publisher: The Hogarth Press & The Institute of Psycho-Analysis
Publication Date: 1946
Binding: Hardcover
Book Condition: Very Good
Edition: 3rd Edition
This is the stated Third Edition, published by The Hogarth Press & The Institute of Psycho-Analysis in 1946, of Joan Riviere's translation from German to English, of Sigmund Freud's "Civilization and Its Discontents" (144 pages), number 17 in Ernest Jones' International Psycho-Analytical Library. The dust jacket is sunned, and with mostly shallow edge wear, but in good overall condition , with all text clearly legible. The original price, 8 shillings 6 pence, is noted on a label attached to the spine. The cover (app. 5.5" x 8.5"), green cloth with gold lettering to the spine, has small spots of lifting to the cloth, but there is no looseness to the material, no notable fade to the green or the gilt lettering.
