Title: Group Psychology and the Analysis of the Ego
Publisher: Hogarth Press & The Institute of Psycho-Analysis
Publication Date: 1948
Binding: Hardcover
Book Condition: Near Fine
Dust Jacket Condition: No Jacket
Edition: 4th Edition
This is the stated fourth impression, published by The Hogarth Press & The Institute of Psycho-Analysis in 1948, of James Strachey's translation from German to English of Sigmund Freud's "Group Psychology and the Analysis of the Ego" (134 numbered pages), number 6 in Ernest Jones' international Psycho-Analytical Library. The dust jacket is in fair condition, with sunned borders as well as a number of stains to the back, and shallow wear to the edges. The price has been clipped from the front flap. The lettering is legible. There are no deep tears. The book itself is near fine. The only flaw to the cover (app. 5.75" x 8.75"), textured green cloth with gold lettering to the spine, is slight curl to the spine's bottom edge. There are no stains or tears, no fade to the green or gilt. The connection to the inside is secure, with no looseness to the front, back, or spine. The only extraneous elements inside are to the front inside cover spread, which has a name, in ink, a slight residue from a pencil number, and a small area with what may have been other writing. There are no stamps or other attachments. There is no other writing. There are no page tears or creases. The binding is tight, with no loose or missing pages. The pages are uniformly clean, with no stains or scuffs, and no fade to any of the lettering, all of which is clearly legible. Bookseller Inventory # 1159
