Description
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, San Juanito, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A bichrome, hollow-molded standing female shaft tomb figure painted red and cream with a characteristic elongated face and tall headdress, her expressive visage comprised of slit eyes, a pronounced aquiline nose, and a wide open slit-mouth. Though nude except for a red leggings, she is elaborately decorated with "feather" earrings, shoulder pellets, red foot coverings, and that grand headdress. Size: 10" H (25.4 cm)
