Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Michoacan, ca. 100 to 400 CE. A burnished pottery vessel, the body in the form of shelter, its base representing a gadrooned gourd or a globular shape, with a cylindrical neck and conical 'roof', the tubular handle with an opening for filling and/or pouring. A special example, quite rare for its iconography, from the state of Michoacan. Size: 6.5" W x 7.25" H (16.5 cm x 18.4 cm)

Condition
Stable pressure crack at base of neck (upper end of gourd form). Normal surface wear commensurate with age. Mineral deposits and nice burnishing marks.
