Description
Carved wooden "Nkisi" or magic fetish carving from the Songye peoples of the DRC / Congo, central AFRICA. Such idols were considered powerful magic by the tribe, and this one in particular is interesting. A tall antelope horn extends from the top of the head, and two old glass beads make up the eyes, one white and one red. remains of animal skin and grass skirt also adorn the sculpture. There is clear evidence of age.The Statue measures 26.5 inches tall.

Weathered and worn, loss to animal hides, overall fair condition.
