Spelter sculpture, ''Pegasus,'' after Emile Louis Picault (French, 1833-1915), bears signature bottom base, overall: 20.5''h x 14''w x 10''d artist of the École des Beaux-Artsbronze, sculpture Pegasus 1888 from the Greek myth of Perseus and the slaying of the Gorgon Medusa. Perseus is shown after the slaying of Medusa with her head, Hades’ Helm of Darkness, and Athena’s shield. The sculpture is signed “E. Picault†and “Salon Des Beaux Arts 1888â€. The foundry mark is Connection Francaise/Made in USA
