Description
Pre-Columbian, northern Peru, Moche, ca. 300 to 700 CE. Large pottery jar in the form of a standing male. He has led a very "satisfying" life and has eaten well judging by his large girth. Hands to his large waist, stocky legs supporting his large frame, head wearing animal headdress, added white and red pigments. A very attractive vessel! Size: 10.5" H (26.7 cm)
