**First Time At Auction**
Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th Dynasty, ca. 664 to 525 BCE. A Late Period ushabti (shabti) painted with a turquoise faience that turns pale brown along the figure's back, feet, and top of head, but is vibrant everywhere else. Mold-made and mummiform, with wonderfully clear display of the hoes in its hands that would be used to work the harvesting fields of Osiris in the afterlife. The figure itself also displays gentle facial features, a long and thin braided beard, and a horizontal integrated plinth. The hieroglyphs, while somewhat faded, are still legible. Size: 0.875" L x 1.125" W x 4.8" H (2.2 cm x 2.9 cm x 12.2 cm).

Condition
Surface wear commensurate with age, faded but still legible hieroglyphs, minor loss to corner of base, and earthen deposits throughout. A small hole drilled into base was presumably for a previous display stand.
