Description
Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Cream Pitcher, attributed to S. Bell & Sons or J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, ovoid pitcher with footed base, tooled shoulder, and flared collar, the surface decorated with streaks of copper and manganese over a cream-colored slip ground. This pitcher is slightly taller than most examples of the form known. Smooth chips and wear to base. Wear to rim. A small glaze flake to handle. Area of scratches to surface on left side of pitcher. A short surface line to base area, not visible on interior. H 7".
