Signed by on the title page by General James H. "Jimmy" Doolittle and Everett "Brick" Holstrom. Holstrom was a pilot on the Tokyo mission, and author of chapter 10 in this book, "A Bomber Pilot's Decision." The Doolittle Raid, also known as the Tokyo Raid, on Saturday, April 18, 1942, was an air raid by the United States on Tokyo and other places on the island of Honshu during World War II, the first air operation to strike the Japanese Home Islands, demonstrating that Japan itself was vulnerable to air attack. It served as a retaliation to the attack on Pearl Harbor, and gave a big boost to American morale.
