Description
A beautiful Roman terracotta antefix fragment depicting the head of Silenus, c, 1st - 2nd Century AD, nicely detailed with wild hair and furrowed brows. A very attractive piece with much eye appeal! 5 1/8 in (13cm) x 3 7/8 in (9.9cm). Traces of paint remain under mineral deposits. Ex London, UK private collection, acquired in the early 1990's.
