Bronze, the seal with gilt-lacquer coating. China, Qianlong Period, dated 1749

Rectangular seal with tall handle, cast at the top with 'Xianghuangqi hanshisijia Latai lingzhi guanfang libuzao' (Seal for Latai, group Han No 1-14 of Bordered Yellow Banner, commissioned and authorized by Ministry of Rites) in both Chinese and Manchu, the two sides with the characters 'Qian zi erqianerbai qishibao hao' ('Number 2298 of Qian') and 'Qianlong shisi nian shi yue [..]' ('Made in the tenth month in the 14th year of the Qianlong reign'), corresponding to 1749, the seal face cast with a Chinese and Manchu inscription.

Shape: Rectangular form and surmounted by a tall slightly tapering cylindrical handle
Dimensions: 11,5 cm (height), 9,7 cm (length), 6,2 cm (width)
Condition: Good condition with smooth hand patina, later lacquer coating to the seal
