Richard Red Skelton, American, 1913-1997, California, Indiana Clown head and figure “Freddy Picks a Posy” Signed and dated lower left This drawing Depicts the bust of a clown in a black top hat, a blue tuxedo, and a red scarf. His makeup consists of black paint on the bottom half of his face. He wears tattered gloves, holding a purple rose before his chin that bends downwards, like his frowning mouth.
