Latin America, Mexico, probably Tarascan, early 20th century CE. This is a small folk art maskette of a man with a large forehead and a long thin nose; he has brass rings around each eye (although one is missing, giving him a delightfuly squinting appearance) and a long black and white hair beard. This piece was probably made to be carried as a charm. Size: 1.25" W x 3.8" H (3.2 cm x 9.7 cm).

Provenance: Ex- Adeon Gallery, Nick Poolos, Chicago, IL acquired before 1970.
