Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Jamacoaque culture, ca. 500 CE. A pair of pottery molds, perhaps to make masks out of copper or other pottery. One is a long, triangular face, while the other is wide, with a leering face and round eyes. A fascinating glimpse into an ancient technology. Size of largest: 4.75" W x 4.5" H (12.1 cm x 11.4 cm)

Provenance: Ex-Adeon Gallery, Chicago, IL, acquired prior to 1970.
