Description
Near East, Holy Land, Canaanite Bronze Age, ca. 1900 BCE. A fine example of a coil-made, tall pottery jug with a trefoil spout, a strap handle, and an amphora-like body. A classic example of Holy Land pottery from this time period, with an acorn-shaped base, so it could be placed in the sand as they did not have hard floor surfaces. Size: 5.25" W x 11.25" H (13.3 cm x 28.6 cm); 15.4" H (39.1 cm) on included custom stand.
Provenance: private Carlton Collection, Los Angeles, California, USA, acquired between 1965 and 1980
